Finishing 8 points behind arch-rivals Arsenal saw Tottenham missing out on a Champions League berth, and to fill this vacuum Martin Jol has signed England forward Darren Bent for a record deal of £16.5 million. The Spurs had an excellent last season that saw new club records being created. Winning seven games on a trot had inspired a lot of hope and faith in Jol and the win over Chelsea, their first in 16 years only proved that Berbatov, Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe's trio has been a perfect combination when it comes to attack. Tottenham have always relied on young guns and this year's delight is in the form of Gareth Bale and Younes Kaboul. The lax defence needs to be restructured if the Spurs are to improve their away record. Tottenham have made a steady progress in the last couple of seasons and now the time has come to raise the bar. Celebrating its 125th anniversary, an impressive show will lead to a blissful season with never-ending celebrations.
