With Mark Viduka, Michael Owen and Alan Smith, Newcastle have formidable attackers. But the major worry for the Magpies is their defence, which was completely haywire in the last season as they conceded as many as 47 goals. This will be manager Sam Allardyce's first season with Newcastle after spending six years with Bolton and a majority of his work would revolve around restructuring and strengthening their defence. He has indicated that results will improve but has also asked fans to be patient. The calm man that he is, Allardyce will need to nurture back the fallen stars back to form. It's been 80 long years since the Magpies last won the Premiership and looking at their current state, the title drought is likely to continue. If Big Sam's stint with the Magpies turns productive, chances are we might see him as the future coach of the England national side
