The Al Jazeera Centre for Studies was created in 2006 as an autonomous cultural and scientific institution within the Al Jazeera Satellite Network with the purpose of promoting research activities as well as enhancing and sharing knowledge mainly through the means of Information and Communication technologies (ICTs).
