Awards for the Best Two films About Children and the Family
The 4th Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival will grant two awards to the best two films that address issues related to children and the family. The two awards will be sponsored by Aljazeera children Channel.
The festival will be held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Thamer Al Thani, president of the Board of Administration of Aljazeera Network in Doha - Qatar from the 21st to 24th of April, 2008.
The participation in the Festival is expected to be large and varied, including Arab and non- Arab TV channels, TV production companies, independent individuals, and cultural, social and media organizations.
The official program of the Festival begins with the Opening Ceremony on Monday 21st of April 2008, which will include the screening of a documentary film, and honoring one or more distinguished personalities in the field of documentary films or Media in general.
The screening of documentary films in the Festival will include the In- Competition films as well as Out of Competition films for some distinguished documentaries.
The festival will also include some parallel activities such as seminars about related topics to be held by well experienced personalities in the production of documentary films. There will also be some exhibitions for books, photography, traditional documents, and an exhibition for the organizations that wish to exhibit their industrial and production equipment.
The Closing Ceremony is scheduled on Thursday 24th April, 2008. It will include honoring the jury members, the distribution of the Festival's competition awards and the screening of one of the winning documentary films.
