• Productions taking part in the Festival competitions are limited to   documentary films.    
• Only films produced within the previous two years prior to the festival edition will be accepted.
• A participant may only have one entry in each category (short, medium or long.
• Participating films should either be in Arabic or English. If in another language, they should be translated, dubbed, or subtitled into either of the two languages.
• Participants should send a copy of the film (on Betacam SP or DigiBeta PAL), PLUS a complete copy on DVD/PAL.
• Every film copy sent to the Festival should carry the title, name of director, and his/her email.
• Kindly send  trailer and posters if available
• A passport copy (for visa purposes) and personal photo are to be sent along with the entry form by e-mail or by post along with the film. 
• Before films are sent, all commercials, advertisements, trailers, and promotional material should be removed from the footage.
• Participants should authorize brief sections of their works to be shown on TV or the Internet in order to promote the Festival.
• Films will be kept in the Festival film library for the sole purpose of research, documentation, and education.
• Films that have competed in previous Aljazeera Festivals may not compete again.
• Festival Management reserves the right to accept or reject any entries, without offering any reasons or explanation.
• By participating, participants automatically agree to the conditions outlined herein.

Important dates and deadlines:

• All applications to participate must be received by the 1st of January 2010.
• All competing films must be received before the 1st of February 2010.
